Matthew Fitzgerald

Principal

Matthew joined Arnold Thomas & Becker in 2019. He has been the Practice Manager of the Richmond office since 2020 and was appointed as a Partner in 2022.

In 2011, Matt obtained his Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) and was admitted to practice in 2012. Born and bred in Traralgon, he spent over seven years working in the region representing injured workers in the Gippsland and surrounding areas before moving to Melbourne to join ATB.

Matt has been recognised by Doyle’s Guide in the Leading Work Injury Compensation Lawyers as a recommended WorkCover lawyer in 2018, 2023 and 2024. He also has extensive experience representing clients in TAC and Public Liability matters and acts for clients with Asbestos related diseases.

A Richmond local, Matt enjoys the perk of being able to walk to work. With a young family, he has welcomed the opportunity to spend some time back home to help establish the Traralgon office where his parents (aka babysitters) still reside.
